16 Month Update
Our sassy little munchkin is 16 months old! People always used to marvel at how calm and easy-going Sarah was, but these days she's become much more feisty. If I ever try to re-direct her in a different direction or towards a different toy to play with, she gets quite angry. It's all fun and cute now, but I suppose eventually I'm going to have to figure out how to get her temper under control!
Sarah is finally walking most of the time. After many months of making us walk her around while holding her hands and a few steps here and there, she is now walking more than she is crawling. I suppose it was a bit easier to deal with her and Noah when she was not mobile (only one child to chase around) but Noah is a bit more tame now and Sarah is just getting too heavy! Plus I was really starting to get worried about the whole thing. So, fortunately she is on the move on her own two feet. Hooray!
Sarah's teeth are still ever so slowly coming in… She has almost six teeth now. Haha. I'm not sure if it's because her teeth hurt or she's just feeling sick, but she's been on another hunger strike and hasn't eaten much of anything in the past few days. Yesterday she had a large portion of oatmeal and then took a nice looooong nap, but today she seems to be back to her normal ways of eating very little, napping very little. Looks like little Sarah is going to be staying very little.
Although Sarah can get really mad when I try to redirect her, she fortunately does not need to be redirected often. Noah seemed to always have a knack for getting into everything he wasn't supposed to get into, but Sarah just explores but doesn't do crazy things like break glass pitchers or play in the toilet bowl (yet!). She is also pretty good at playing with toys on her own, so in that way she's a lot less high maintenance. Either girls are just way easier than boys, or we totally lucked out this time around! She crawled and walked later which made it easier for me to adjust to having two kids, never really rolled around (Noah used to get from one end of the room to the other just by rolling), learned to go up and down the stairs safely pretty early, is pretty good at feeding herself (when she's in the mood to eat), goes to sleep easily - sometimes even transfers from carseat to crib, and I think there's probably more to add to the list that I can't think of now. She's also more cuddly and gives juicy kisses with a big "mmmmmah!"
It's been a good month, and in the midst of the holiday festivities, I'm reminded of how lucky I am to have my little babies!
